How to use Cernit polymer clay?
Once unpacked, the clay should be kneaded in the palm of the hand before starting the modeling so that it is softer and easier to work with. Clay should also be used with clean hands on a clean surface to prevent any dirt or dust from getting into the clay.

There are as many uses as one could imagine! Cernit can be molded, sculpted, with or without tools, printed or mixed with stones, beads, feathers, powders, paints...

How to fire Cernit polymer clay?
Cernit clay cures between 110 and 130°C (230-266°F) in a preheated oven. The cooking time is 30 minutes. The temperature must be observed unless harmful gases develop and the color is corrupted.

Be careful, this clay cannot be cooked in the microwave! After firing, the clay is waterproof. Also, it can be fired multiple times if you want to add bits to your work.

When you are done firing, the clay can still be worked. It can be sanded, drilled, varnished according to the finish you like. For polishing, start by gently sanding the clay with a fine-grit sandpaper. Finish with a polisher for maximum shine. After a while, if it rubs the clothes, the clay might lose some of the shine. Then it needs to be polished again. The result will be the same as with varnish. However, the varnish will resist rubbing off and does not need to be reapplied.

As soon as your piece of clay is fired and perhaps polished, you can still work on it by adding acrylic paints, oil paints, mica powders or varnish.
